The sector is experiencing a solid recovery and consolidating its position as the world's second-largest producer, although climate and price challenges persist. Opportunities and challenges for the sector: Production growth presents an opportunity to strengthen the international position of Spanish almonds. However, it also poses significant challenges: Price pressure: if supply grows faster than demand, farmgate prices could fall. International competition: especially from major producers like the United States and Australia. Production and water costs: rising energy prices and water scarcity continue to threaten profitability. Climate change: the risk of droughts and frosts necessitates investment in resistant varieties and efficient irrigation systems.
